It depends on the culture of your fraternity. If you develop a strong, deep, long lasting, brotherhood then yeah you'll hook them up.

I pledged at one school and then transfered to another where I joined the chapter of my fraternity. The culture at the chapter that I pledged had a strong brotherhood. If any of the older guys were in finance, I have no doubt they would of helped me out. At the chapter that I transferred too, the culture was basically the fraternity was a place to party and that's it, no loyalty, no brotherhood or anything.

Since you are a founding father, you will effectively set the tone of how the younger guys perceive the fraternity in terms of loyalty, brotherhood, etc. The choice is really yours to make.

I would help my brothers if I had the chance.

Agree with John. I go to a school in the south and my chapter does not have many alumni working in finance in New York. The ones working in DC in accounting and consulting have been very helpful to those going down that route. Personally I have been getting in contact with alumni from other chapters nationwide on LinkedIn with decent results. Its what brotherhood is all about.

I did not find many brothers helping me...even alumni. I actually found a boutique IB group in the state of my university that was run by an alumni from my specific chapter, had an associate from my chapter, and an analyst from my chapter....I got to the superday but wasn't given an offer. It was actually an alumni from my university, not fraternity that ended up connecting me to the MM firm that I accepted my FT offer from.

That being said, I have been trying to help younger guys in their recruitment process for SA positions this year.

A little late in the game, but I've gotten better results from speaking with ordinary alums from my uni, as opposed to fraternity alum's from other schools. They often will give you the time of day, but it takes much more TLC to build up.

We had a strong brotherhood at my school. Both of my positions post-grad have been through employee referrals of alums from my chapter. I find it pretty easy to just randomly shoot an email to an alum from my chapter and spark a pretty extensive conversation. The two brothers who referred me for both of my last to posts were only a year ahead of me. But I have had some great conversations and mentorships from random brothers I either ran into or were connected.

I can be sure that I will try to actively promote and refer graduating brothers (who fit the bill of course) as well as provide a resource for brothers to speak with about consulting.

Not many alumni of my chapter in high finance, but the few that are have been extremely helpful and easy to reach out to.
