Burger King TV ad tries to access your phone
This is blowing up a little bit since yesterday. Basically, a new Burger King ad was released where the guy in the commercial says that there isn't enough time to explain how great the Whopper (their main burger) is, and then he instructs the camera to zoom in and he says "OK Google, what is the Whopper Burger?"
For those of you who don't have android phones, "OK Google" is what you say to your phone to activate the voice-controlled AI helper feature. It is the Google version of the iPhone's Siri.
Certainly a bold move by BK and perhaps a good idea if they really want to mess up whatever you're doing and do a google search on your phone for their burger.
Convenient? No. Memorable? Probably. Google shut it down pretty quickly though so not as memorable as it could've been. Still interesting to see how technology is starting to come together across different platforms.
Do you guys think that interactive advertisements like this are the future of advertising? Any other thoughts?
