True. It means they won't pay you enough to warrant you getting dressed up, or enough to be able to afford a decent suit.
Totally dude. That's why entry-level FAs @ PWM shops make $2.75MM (on average) starting out -- because they are rocking zegna to their office every day. I'd also say there is a massive correlation between the clothes you wear and your compensation, and not performance and/or industry and/or competitiveness of firm. You're a genius. Can you be my mentor? Alternatively, could we be BFFs

I meant for client facing positions. I'm on board with the_V on this one. Wonder if this is a way to vet out max potential earnings between different firms.
Reconcile with comp for entry level FAs pls THX

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Serious question to all BC/Cas people on here. Do you think you'd be making more if the culture were Suit/Tie? Less? Unchanged?

Really? How would wearing a suit make you better at your job, which I guess would lead you to make more money? Does wearing a suit increase your IQ, analytic abilities or problem solving skills?

If you were somehow coming off as unprofessional to clients, a suit could maybe help, but honestly, it doesn't matter.

Personally, I would be less productive in a more formal environment because I think ties are uncomfortable.

This is the kind of shit that just blows my mind.
