Buying Recruiting Materials
Do you think it’s necessary to buy guides, etc nowadays? Is there anything that I should definitely spend money on to prepare for recruiting? For example, how good should my shoes, ties, etc be?

Everyone has pdf versions of all the materials. I managed the drive fir my schools, literally everything
Don't buy any guides they're all online or alumni from your school should have them.
Also, don't worry about fancy shoes, ties, etc. You should for sure look clean, a simple trip to marshalls will suffice.
Nope. Just make sure to have a decent suit for interviews. As far as materials, I found it way easier to start with the 400 guide and then get into the more advanced stuff after you've mastered the basics(I did this just by browsing WSO looking for things like "hardest technicals, multi-step questions, etc". Can't emphasize how important it is to actually understand the concepts instead of just memorizing answers from the 400q guide.
Got an offer with a $150 suit and a cheap ass polka dot tie. Really doesn’t matter. Know you stuff and be confident. Regarding guides, there is a lot online in pdf, and a lot of questions answered on WSO. Not necessary to buy guides (I didn’t) but it wouldn’t hurt.
Good investment
