CAGR pronunciation?

Do you pronounce Kay-ger or Keg-ger? Was in a client meeting today and MD went on and on with Kay-ger, only to not be understood

KAG-R

For KAG think of it rhyming with bag and the ka beginning sound the starting sound for cat.

Oh, linguistics.

I have a Pacific Northwest accent, which, among other boring attributes, means I am subject to the bag-beg merger:

https://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/what-is-the-bag-beg-merger

It means that my vowel sounds for "bag" and "beg" and "bagel" all mush together. I have other lazy vowel mergers too, like "cot" and "caught" and, as my East Coast friends will find inexplicable, "Mary," "marry," and "merry."

Back to the point - I pronounce "CAGR" as "KAY-gr" if I'm speaking slowly and "KEG-gr" if I'm speaking quickly - and although you meant it a different way, my vowel sound in "KEG-gr" is the same as my vowel sound in "bag."

Saying "CAGR" with the a sound in "bad" is common, so I can't say it's wrong, but it sounds weird to me.

See-Ey-Are-Gee

I think you meant See-Ey-Gee-Are

Anyways imo it feels awkward to say out the letters beyond 3. Like for NPV, and IRR we just say out the letters but for EBIT, I don't hear people saying out the letters.

In general, I really like to always know new things because that makes me feel more confident and I can talk about any topic with any person. I really like crosswords lately and I didn't know I had such a passion until recently. Doing crossword I started to think more critically and more logically and I like that a lot. Many times I can't find the necessary word but I'm lucky with this site https://crossword-solver.io/clue/verb-for-which-synonyms-can-be-found-a… where I can find everything I need according to some clues.
