For KAG think of it rhyming with bag

Oh, linguistics.

I have a Pacific Northwest accent, which, among other boring attributes, means I am subject to the bag-beg merger:

https://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/what-is-the-bag-beg-merger

It means that my vowel sounds for "bag" and "beg" and "bagel" all mush together. I have other lazy vowel mergers too, like "cot" and "caught" and, as my East Coast friends will find inexplicable, "Mary," "marry," and "merry."

Back to the point - I pronounce "CAGR" as "KAY-gr" if I'm speaking slowly and "KEG-gr" if I'm speaking quickly - and although you meant it a different way, my vowel sound in "KEG-gr" is the same as my vowel sound in "bag."

Saying "CAGR" with the a sound in "bad" is common, so I can't say it's wrong, but it sounds weird to me.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
