Can GS Offer be rescinded

Just curious I had an underage drinking still showing on my record; however I've been under the impression the last 8 years it was expunged. They called and asked which I explained I knew about but didn't know it was still showing. Would rescind their offer?

It was a no contest misdemeanor. I didn't know that it was still showing. Now I have to dispute the issue.

I think the consensus is that if you declared your misdemeanor in the application and interview stages when asked you should be fine. But as the above poster said, they CAN (not sure if they will) still rescind at their discretion.

How long has your background checks been going on for now?

I've done an operations gig at another bank like I'm right at 3 weeks into the background check. It's the only thing that would hold me up. The code he in the state says if it's supposed to be expunged then you are ok to claim 'no' on the application per the state legislature. Lol

Your offer will be rescinded in most cases, also I don't understand why you wouldn't just give a call to your recruiter and explain the situation. They would have been far more receptive to that than to try and hide it.

My offer was not rescinded. Expunged charge, similar to yours, showed up on background, I did not disclose, I provided proof of expungement, everything was fine. BB bank.

Well, I'll see what they say. I guess if they do rescind, I'll just have to eat it, and lose my chance for good with the company.

Errrr....I better start laughing at myself now for this dumb thing. Ahahahaha!!!

Keep us posted. I think it reflects poorly on the bank to rescind an offer for something so trivial.
