Can I call myself a Venture Capital Analyst?

I'm going to be working in a company that specializes in joint ventures. Would it be appropriate to call myself a venture capital analyst on my resume? I know they're not quite the same thing, but would it be appropriate to do so?

Can you answer questions about analysing VC opportunities eg what key metrics you would look for, what aspects of management you would look for, whether you typically look at Series [A thru D] funding rounds, what conflicts of interests you see between earlier series and latter series investors when new funding is being negotiated?

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

Considering you clearly don't understand what VC is (either that or you don't know what JVs are, which would be especially bad if that's your job), I would say you shouldn't risk it.

"I know they're not quite the same thing, but would it be appropriate to do so?"

"I work at a private company and own a small amount of equity, would it be okay to say I work in Private Equity? I know they're not quite the same thing, but would it be appropriate to do so?"

This is what your argument sounds like to me. Literally the only thing that Venture Capital and Joint Ventures have in common is the word "Venture."
