Can I get into a top 10 MBA program?
First and foremost, want to thank anyone who provides any insight and offers a hand.
Graduated from a top public school (Think UNC, UVA, Michigan) with a 3.5. GPA is good, not great. Definitely lower in the pile applying to H/S/W.
Currently an investment banking analyst (M&A) in the middle market (Think Lazard MM, Piper Jaffray, Harris Williams)
Haven't taken the GMAT yet. Hypothetically speaking, lets say I score a 700.
Really curious how far EC, recommendations, and other factors come into play.
Pretty obvious but would like to attend HBS, Stanford and the upper echelon schools. Any advice is appreciated! If you currently attend or have attended a top 10 school, please say so if you don't mind.

I think it will largely depend on your essays, recos, and ECs as I think your profile falls into a pretty competitive pile. How was your GMAT split? 720 would help. I would be surprised if you didn't crack the top 10 but H/S/W will be much more difficult without any real differentiating factors. I spent years researching MBA admissions before basically being priced out and realizing fit/timing were off.
Sorry for the confusion. Wanted to hypothetically throw the 700 out there.
What ECs have you seen that really impress the admission offices?
Do EC's you're passionate about. Not ones you think might impress an admission office. You can't fake passion and they will see right through it.
