Can I retake GMAT?
Lets say I do it and get a shitty score.
I then retake and get a decent score...when applying for B-schools is it the most recent score that counts?
Also in general is a high gmat score doable if you put the work in or is it more a test of intelligence?
They only count the better score, you can take probably up to 3 times before they start to take notice. Putting in more work pays off, it's more about practice (especially becoming fast at the math problems) I'd say than intelligence (although being smart doesn't hurt).
most schools only count better score, 'some' take the average although i am not sure what schools these are
I think most, if not all, just take the score you report to them
Maherj1,
On your business school application your GMAT score will be self reported, and an MBA program will only consider the score you report (your highest score) when they accept you into their incoming class. Only after you are accepted will they confirm your score with GMAC (maker of the GMAT).
Therefore, you should not be concerned about the number of times you take the GMAT test.
I hope this was of help.
