Can you LOVE a Bank? Do you guys actually feel LOVE?

Hey,

Can you actually feel LOVE for a Bank? I kind of actually do everytime I step into the building or look at my Bank's logo. It does actually feel like love. Is that normal? Am I just very committed to the job I am doing or am I just a strange piece of garbage?

Let me know

It's normal. You feel on top of the world right now. Sometimes in class you pull up and reread your offer letter email and zoom into the bb logo at the bottom hoping someone will ask you about it. Then you start fiddling around with your TTS account instead of paying attention in class, tabbing between wsj, LI and meermin to pick out a hot new pair of shoes.

Yes, I've met this kid many times. Careful you don't slip on the marble floor, my friend.

Never love anything that sees you as expendable.

I don't care what degree you have or how high up at an elite firm you are, you're expendable in the eyes of your employer.

You're not part of the [firm name] "family". You're a mercenary, never forget it.

Does this apply to women?

I don't think it's a good idea to love an institution, especially an institution where you're only a very small part of it. (If it's your own company or something that's a different s story)

But you can absolutely love a subject or a job. I know people like that and at times have felt it.

My favorite professor, when asked whether someone should pursue a PhD, would always ask them, "Have you ever been in love? Because you shouldn't devoted the better part of a decade to one subject if you don't love it."
