Capital One Commerical Banking Program
I got a job offer from Capital One for the Comemrcial Banking Analysts program. It is straight out of college, 1.5 year rotation between different bank departments and then the bank assigns you where to a permanent position. Bank is rapidly expanding and there is a lot of room to grow.
Has anyone else received/accepted a similar offer. I heard that the class is really small.
I also have an offer from PNC Capital Markets for the Public Finance underwrriting program.
I would like to hear your thoughts on what do you guys think would look better on a resume for a MBA application at top programs.
Thanks a lot.
PNC Cap Mkts slightly over Cap One Comm Bkg for MBA....for resume for future banking, PNC >>>>> Cap1, and probably for pay and experience too.
PNC capital markets over Capital One.
I would usually say that PNC CM would be better, BUT you should make sure that you know if you want to pursue a career in public finance credit. Let me know if you have other questions.
CapOne > PNC for quality of life
capital one pays more (in general, for analyst-level at least) and seems to have people coming from better undergrad and better b-schools. aside from that, i cant comment on which one has better exit ops and positions you better for an MBA .
I don't know about PNC but Cap One has agreements with a couple BSchools that help them place pretty well relative to their 'brand equity' (not that they don't have a good rep).
friend from wharton worked at cap one. he really enjoyed it.
the banks themselves r pretty equivalent in terms of reputation. however, your job offers are quite different so it basically depends on what u want to do...commercial banking or public finance?
