Yeah, I've read so many articles talking about how intelligent people now seek Finance careers due to their attractive salaries, rather than pursue the sciences. When you live in a society in which people derive respect from the amount of money they make, you are going to see people seeking high-paying jobs. That is just the society we are in. Will it hurt our scientific advances? probably, but you can't tell people how to live their lives. Nobody wants to be the world's smartest poor guy, until the sciences offer higher salaries for research, this is how it will remain. It's not right, it's just the way it is.
