Career advice: Economist vs Commercial Banker
Hello all,
I'm facing a cross-road and need help. I have an offer for an EM-focused economist position for the government, and another for a credit risk analyst position with a large commercial bank. My ultimate goal is to work in portfolio management, preferably for a global macro fund as this would suit my interests and skills the best.
The plan, either way, is to do an MBA In a few years. By then, I'll also have completed my CFA (I'm writing level 2 in June). Which route is best to take?
Any guidance here would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
