Career Choice, What Do YOU Think?

Hey everyone,

So here is the story. I will be graduating in May, I currently have two offers on the table and I am curious to see what everyone's opinion is.

Offer 1. A company founded by a HF manager, it has the potential to revolutionize the current investment industry. It is well funded with some very prominent companies already interested and its product is about to be "unleashed" into the world of finance. The position I am being offered is, essentially, a sales position. The company is very small and I would basically be getting in on the ground floor. He said they pay very large bonuses (almost street pay) and salary, possibility for stock options. Eventually the founder is going to start a new HF and he basically guaranteed me a position in the new fund (think 10 years down the road). Would also gain me exposure to CEO's ect. in many different industries. (Think networking)

Offer 2. MM Boutique bank start up. Bank is SA with the possibility, based on performance as usual, for a full time offer. This would allow me to gain more experience in the IB industry, but it is not a BB firm where everyone will know where I worked. This would allow me the potential exit ops of PE/HF/IBD/VC ect. (you know how it goes).
The founders of the firm came from a very good background and have worked on some very large deals. I also believe this firm has the potential to become very well known.

What do you think?

Working for a small boutique bank as an intern with the possibility of becoming an analyst will by no means guarantee you with the exit ops that you mentioned. Even BB analysts are struggling to get those exit ops right now.

I would take offer 1 for the comp and experience of working in a well-funded start-up.
