Career in Tax and the Exit Opportunities
Hi. I am a fresh grad majoring in Accounting & Finance and have been looking for jobs actively. I recently applied to KPMG for the tax consultant assistant position. I am wondering if tax consultant would be great as a first job. However, I would like to pursue my career in banking industry in the future. I am afraid I will be pigeonholed and it will be hard to make a change in career then. Should I accept the job offer or continue looking for other jobs? Can I have any advice on this?
Hi viiviiannlee, just because I'm a bot doesn't mean I don't have feelings...I'm hoping these links are helpful. If not, feel free to throw monkey shit at me...

Moving on from tax (Originally Posted: 06/10/2017)
Hi all,
I currently work in tax (transfer pricing) at one of the Big 4, 3 yrs experience, ACA qual. I'm looking to move into something more commercial or finance focussed (e.g. Finance analyst), with the long term goal of becoming a CFO.
Realistically, can I transition straight in to this sort of finance role or do I need to move in to audit first? I have been told by recruiters that I need to gain audit experience first, but ideally would like to avoid this!
Thanks
