Career path advice for the current corp dev?
Hi all. Extremely glad that I found a community like this. I hope to be able to contribute too one day. I’m in my early 30s. Spent 4 yrs in tech (strategy), 2 yrs in healthcare (financial analyst/consulting), and now back in tech as a corp dev. This is my 3rd yr. All 3 companies are large US or multinational firms. Unlike an usual corp dev person, I do not have IB or mgmt consulting experience. No MBA. No ivy league title, either. But I’ve been able to handle/perform at work and love my current job function. Although currently I may not be as valued as most of my usual corp dev colleagues (in the job market and salary-wise), I truly intend to stay and grow in the related field. Could you please share some advices and insights for my future path to do so? Next career options to choose? (Corp dev, IB, PE, VC? Is it feasible? how to increase odds?) MBA? Skillsets to develop? Priority?
