Career Paths in Treasury
Hi all,
So I landed a job within the Treasury department of a bank at the Collateral Management desk (part of Securities Finance) and I was wondering what some typical career paths could look like for people working in Treasury.
Do people rotate across different desks (e.g.: Short-Term Funding, Long-Term Funding, Balance Sheet Management etc.) or do they rather specialize within a certain field?
Is working in Treasury suitable as a long-term career or do people often move out after a few years? In case of the latter, what type of jobs do people with a Treasury background move to?
Thanks!

Hi all, I'm heading into Treasury as a SA for a BB in London. Haven't seen much about Treasury on here (specifically Treasury in an Investment Bank). I selected Capital Market Execution as my preferred desk within Treasury for the summer interenship. Just wondering if anyone knows what the typical base salary is for a Full time Treasury analyst and the potential career paths/ typical exit opportunities that can be expected. Interested to know what the more 'glamorous' (high paid) routes could be.
Any Treasurers on here?
Hey, any chance you could tell me about the AC? I have one for Treasury in London in a few weeks but can't find anything on it. Thanks

Hi all,
I was hoping for some insight to a career path in treasury services (I understand many are atypical and dependent on circumstances.) I'm interested in starting a career in TS with a BB and I was wondering what the work, salary potential, and exit-opps (not that I'm planning on leaving) are like as you become more senior.
I appreciate your comments!
I've read on here that TS is a good (but not easy) way to transfer into IBD. I say not easy because if you didn't start in IBD to begin with then you're gonna have a difficult time moving into it. I'll be starting as a SA at a BB this summer and TS is one of the segments available to be placed in. SB's for anyone with more information on TS and its exit ops!!!
