Career switcher with a STEM background, need advice on the best way to switch to Investment Banking Analyst role

Went to a relatively good undergrad program (Top 40 US) and majored in chemistry because I thought I wanted to go to medical school. While in undergrad, I was interested in business and took some finance and other business classes. I have done my due diligence and understand what the IBanking analyst job entails, and I have full faith that I can excel in it.

I have had an FP&A internship in the past, and currently work as a tech consultant with just under a year of full time experience under my belt.

I know that I can break in at the associate level after doing my MBA, but I would like to make the transition sooner rather than waiting another 2-3 years before applying to an MBA.

In order to break in sooner, I am thinking about networking and recruiting this upcoming fall for local boutiques and also for valuation roles as my backup. If this works out good, otherwise I was thinking of doing a one year Master of Finance program to break in - Vanderbilt's MSF stands out to me the most.

In order to prepare for recruiting this fall I am reading a book on Investment Banking, going through interview questions, and watching Aswath Damodaran's valuation videos. What would you guys recommend to prepare for the technical questions?

Would love your guys' thoughts on my plan
