Carlyle Group Fund Management Advice

Hi,

I will be interviewing for an analyst position in Carlyle Fund Management group. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how this role fits into the corporate structure, and what this groups responsibilities are? I am coming from a private accounting position and would love to get a chance to get into front end private equity (tough odds, I know). I know this is a back end role but Is this a step in the right direction? My comp would be reduced by a significant portion if I do take this job but if it gets me closer I will not hesitate. Hoping that at the least the Carlyle name would help with getting into a better business school in the future.

Thanks in Advance
