Carlyle Group Fund Management SA or Boutique IBD SA for IBD FT?
I interviewed for Carlyle Group Fund Management SA this week, and the result is coming up early next week. It is not like a front office job, but more like a middle office. You work with private equity associates, but your main job is valuation and fund raising etc. It sounds really really cool, and I think it could give you invaluable experience.
However, I want to get a job at IBD for FT. I already networked a lot in BB and EB last semester and got employee referrals, but most of them did not turn to first-round interviews. (It was really frustrating and still do not know why.)
For that reason, I am talking to people at boutique IBDs in NY to secure SA position now. If I get an offer from Carlyle, which one would you recommend for FT at BB IBD, Carlyle or Boutique IBD? Although it is a middle office, I think Carlyle carries great value due to its brand name. Thanks.
still a middle office.. id prefer someone coming from ibd-ish role to someone with brand name on a cv...
unless you are applying to business school or some big industry companies maybe
y so serious?
"still a middle office" upset you?
;)
