CC transfer to Uni Resume GPA
This is my first semester at Uni, need help with my Resume. Do I list my CC on my Resume? I currently don't have a GPA at Uni as this is still my first semester and IBs require a GPA for applications to even process. Very confused about how to proceed.
My CC GPA is 3.8. I currently work in Real-Estate FInance. I've been trying to get into M&A but I don't know how plausible it is with my current standings. Any advice is appreciated.
Dontknow what CC is but if you don’t have a GPA just list a 4.0 that’s what I did
Thank you for responding. CC is Community College. I just transferred recently to an Uni
Since you’re CC gpa is good, if you Have to put a gpa I would just suggest putting 3.8 and then once you finish one semester at Uni you can change it on ur resume to ur new gpa
.
Thank you for responding. I like your idea, that is how my current Resume is formatted. My only concern is: Will banks even look at my Resume when they see a CC?
.
do u need to disclose that u transferred? cant u just say youve been at that college since day 1, or will that show up in ur transcripts?
I do not have to disclose my CC but I cannot use my GPA from my Uni as I have none and also, I cannot use GPA from CC as my unis as that is dishonesty.
Just round it up to 4.0
Imagine them asking, why did you lie on your GPA after the final interview. I don't want to be dishonest.
Transferred but between private universities, not from CC. I included both. I put current university in bold and included that I transferred from the other college as a bullet below it w/ GPA.
Ahh lucky/smart. I got into CC as I couldn't afford Uni, def regretting it now.
Have a similar background. Went to a CC for two years before transferring to my current institution. In my first semester I put both on my resume and, after I had a GPA at my current school, I dropped the CC and only left the current school portion. People rarely ask about the gap years because I was working so it doesn't have discontinuity but I still talk about CC in interviews as people are generally interested in hearing about non-traditional paths through higher education.
Ahhh definitely what I wanted to hear. May I ask you few more questions? Did you get your internship JR year? Or senior year? I feel as if banks will ignore my resume (very qualified RESUME) if I put CC.
And any advice on which banks accept people such as us?
My situation may be a bit different than yours but I am apart of a school with a fairly active transfer/non-traditional community. When I transferred, I gave up all my credits and went back to square one - freshman year - so I was able to recruit on-cycle with all the other "traditional" students.
I received my IB offer for my junior summer during the spring of my sophomore year. I got my offer pretty early during recruiting season so I applied to 1 MM and 3 BB IBDs. I received interviews at all of them and offers at 1 MM and 1 BB. If you are an URM, I would highly recommend going through as many diversity programs as possible because you will have a really unique story that, I have found, people generally appreciate.
Your situation would depend on what year standing you entered with and the relative ranking (target/semi/non) of your current school. Happy to talk about this in more depth via PM if you are interested.
When did u transfer
