Centerbridge-esque Hybrid PE/HFs?

Certainly they exist in the sense that the firm would have both a PE and a HF arm (special sits/credit or even L/S), but are there any other firms like Centerbridge with a generalist associate program across investment strategies? If not completely a mixed experience, are there still firms whose different investment arms work closely with each other where the learning experience is at least mixed?

Elliott does a lot of this although they also have a separate dedicated PE group (I think they just do MM LBOs though). KKR and Golden Gate both have public market allocations out of their main PE funds which do some pseudo activist investing and in theory function as a way to get a toehold position before doing a full take private. I think Vista does something similar but don't know much about their strategy.

Pretty much all the megafunds can do some form of quasi public investing but it's pretty rare (outside of Apollo and Silver Lake--kinda). Certainly not the same way Centerbridge does it though.
