Centerview - "Please do not send unsolicited emails"
"Please note: Applications for multiple offices will not be reviewed. Additionally, we kindly ask that you please not send unsolicited emails to multiple people at the firm."

Anyone know if they actually care if we send cold networking emails? or are they going to ding us for sending "unsolicited" emails lmfao
thanks
Flex on them and do it anyways. Make it the Virgin Centerview Partners vs. Chad Networking Prospect
haha alright man
Nah not a big deal. As with all networking, as long as you’re respectful and not an idiot, you’ll be fine and would encourage it
awesome, thanks so much
Was wondering if they had a policy against this. I have sent them many networking emails and received 0 responses. Never had this issue at any other bank. Usually after 20 or so emails I get 3-4 responses minimum.
yeah, I am having the same issue
Their process is v late so that might be a reason why few ppl is responding. Don’t think there is a policy against networking as I didn’t get the impression from my networking calls with them
I cold emailed every other bank as well, and never had a problem. It seemed like the rational thing to do. Even cold emailed places like Allen & Co. (fairly secretive company, not very flashy, no website) and PJT (every banker there gets lots of cold emails) with absolutely no issue. Centerview seems to be the only place with this kind of issue and that takes it seriously.
EDIT: changed an above paragraph after receiving a note from someone who works at Centerview
This is cap xD
What do you consider "insider info?" I actually work at CVP and it's certainly not a policy among juniors. I got 4 cold emails this morning, haven't had a chance to respond but I try to when I can.
That's what I was told by a colleague who works there. Perhaps "insider info" is a bit too strong of a term here. I was supposedly told that trying to network with people via cold emails was not only a bad look, but could get your app dinged. Again, I'm not sure if that's totally true, but that's at least what I was told.
M Klein did not like it when me and others tried networking.
Probably because it's fucking easy to tell when you blast out the same shitty copypasted message to everyone at the bank. At a small firm like M. Klein, the analysts are going to talk about it.
Nah I emailed one person lol and they said they weren't allowed to take calls. Someone else I know emailed one single other person and got the same response. The only time you can network with them is in official coffee chats.
