Henkel introduction call?

Hi guys:

I’m trying to lateral and recently got connected to Henkel. They set me up for a video intro call. Is this normal for lateral candidates? Do they just put you into a database and never dig you out again after that?
Thank you

Sorry to hijack- I sent in my resume through their website and they got back with a generic response saying "we are impressed with your background but aren't working on relevant searches for you right now" etc. Wondering from others' experience if this means I'm kicked off their radar/want me to get more experience, or if they're actually waiting for an opportunity to come up?

The video interview is standard for henkel and most other firms now. If it weren't covid they'd have you come in and speak with a recruiter. It is possible you could get lost in the pile but generally when they pass on opportunities to you it's your responsibility to follow-up and make sure you're in the mix, especially given the high volume of candidates resulting from covid layoffs

I've actually had good experience with them. Similar boat as in thinking about lateral from smaller PE fund. I had a video conference…recently got a few rounds into a much bigger fund (didn't get to end sadly) that I got through Henkel.

I’ve seen bad reviews…maybe it just depends on point of contact? As with all headhunters, you have to be aware of the game they’re playing, they make money by getting placements - they aren’t dedicated to you as a person.
