CFA®: Practice Questions
Hi All,
Taking Level 1 in a couple of weeks. Just curious, for those of you who have passed, what was the approximate number of practice questions you completed prior to the exam? I know there is no magic number and no such thing as too many but I would like to benchmark myself against those who have passed. I have done about 1500 and hope to have near 3000 done by time I take the exam.
Thanks in advance.
I have done all the practise questions in schweser and offical books (if i remember correclty they are at the end of each chapter). I have also done 3 full mocks on the CFA website, but i haven't done much of the practice questions on the CFA website. I have no clue how many questions this totals overall but i am pretty sure that it is much less than 1500.. Btw i did the exam last December and got above 90th percentile in almost all topics. I belive the most important thing is to learn from your mistakes rather than a number of questions you solve
Thanks for this. Any thoughts on the CFA website practice (and or mock) questions? I completed all of the practice questions at the end of the Schweser chapters and then did each of the sets of practice questions on the CFAs website. Did not get to the mocks yet. In my opinion they seem fairly difficult and a good representation of what I might expect. Realize you did not take that many of them like you said, but I am sure the mock exams are similar. If you could compare the actual exam to the CFA website mocks that would be great. Thanks again.
I would definitely say that the real exam is not more diffucult than the CFA mocks, i would even say that it is a bit easier. My average was 80% for CFA mocks, but i am pretty sure that i scored avove 80% on a real exam
Apparently CFA TTs (ones on website) are harder than EOCs and mocks which are harder than the actual exam, from what I've seen. Also taking it this June and a bit behind. Finishing reviewing FI and derivatives the next few days and then I'll just do mocks. What did you score on mock A on the CFA website btw? This is the only one I have completed so far and want to see how I'm doing.
1) Read the books 2) Do a half practice test to try to get above 70% 3) Go study up on whichever section(s) you messed up. This means actually reading the book which can take a couple/few hours depending on the section. 4) Repeat step 2-4.
Worked for me and I passed three exams in a row.
In other words, don't worry about how many questions it takes you to figure it out, just shoot for 70%+
