CFA® Useful in Private Markets and/or for CFO role?
Hi - want to get the forum's take on whether pursuing a CFA® is worth it for someone interested in private equity and/or a CFO-level role at a portco long-term?
Current credentials: Econ degree from ivy league school. IB analyst program at an EB and heading to a mega fund soon.
Given my background, will gaining the CFA® designation help my career? I am interested in staying in private equity as long as I can (i.e., until I stop getting promoted), before eventually switching to a c-suite role at a portco in an industry of interest. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks.
