Cfa with 7 years Information Technology experience

.. I am trying to take cfa level 2... Having an IT background for 7 years and want to switch to Investment Banking and aiming to be a portfolio manager in the future..
My question is how easy/tough is it to make a switch and most importantly to get a job / charter after i finish my level 3.i want to make sure i am heading in the right direction.
The question which is killing me is how can i prove my 4 years of related work to get a charter and would companies be willing to give me a chance with out any financial background and just an cfa levels cleared..
Any help would be greatly appreciated..

CFA to break into IB after so many years out of school is pointless. Seriously. Don't waste another minute on studying. I assume you are pushing 30 by now...go to grad school otherwise have fun in IT. Just my opinion.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

if you want to be a portfolio manager go into private wealth management or asset management not ib. Your cfa will help greatly. join the member society within your area. you only need to be a level candidate, i see you are a level 2. there are a large number of portfolio managers in all societies and they should be able to help you with some leads. last but not least, learn how to network like a champ. ~fight~

No, it will NOT be enough to get you a job. Not even fucking close judging by your level of awareness right now.

You need to go to grad school pal.
