Change IB from U.S. to Asia
Hi there,
I'm curious there is anyone has changed or thinks about changing working in IB in the U.S. to Asian countries like Singapore or Hong Kong.
Because I'm an international student, finance major and geography minor ( hesitate my unrelated minor because I even consider taking another music minor) and undersand OPT for international students is limited for 1 year after graduation, and being selected in the pay roll for H1B is extremely competitive. Hence, banks consider the visa and working permit for hiring international undergrads. Some bank like GS, JP, ... has offices in Asian countries in Singapore, HongKong, Shanghai,... Do you know how competitive the interview and application process is? Do HRs prefer native/local applicants to U.S colleges undergrads? Is the chances of being sponsored for workung permit better? I know the salary is lower compared to the U.S's due to different regional living cost but is such salary worth?
Thank you!
