Chase RE Banking

I applied for a position with Chase Bank's RE Banking team for a Junior Originator position; basically assisting the senior RM. Does anyone have any insight on this group? Deal types, volume, culture, pay, etc. Also, any tips for the interview? Is there an excel test?

yes CTL is commercial term loans.

I believe the group is run by Chad Treadway, I mean i know the NYC group is. It's probably a lot of following up with clients and doing the initial reaching out. I'm sure the is loan sizing involved too and learning the Chase process, but excel modeling it isn't.

Honestly, the brand name is key here. While it's not a super sexy role, when you look for a new job down the line people will see JP Morgan Chase and you'll stand out.

I'm thinking that this would be a good move since I would probably be groomed to become a senior rm. However, I do not have any underwriting experience. Thinking that underwriting would make me a better lender down the road. Therefore, I was wondering if I should take a credit job first at a smaller bank. The bigger regional banks in my market seem to have cut back on lending. Also, the job market has been pretty slow this year.
