Choosing a Branch of IB

I have not been greatly exposed to the world of finance until this passing year but have applied to numerous schools with good business programs and I would obviously love to get a job/internship as an analyst after undergrad. I don't really even know what analysts REALLY do besides look at prospective companies. The Wall Street lifestyle has always appealed to, but now, even after taking a finance class in HS and learning the in-and-outs of the market, I still don't know what most of these i-bankers do. I feel I need this lifestyle, but I have no idea why. I don't really have any motive for my direction besides money and elitism.

TL;DR - I have a passion for something I barely know anything about. Can someone give me some insight to the world of investment banking and the positions that I could potentially hold? Is it too early to worry about this in HS?

Note : I didn't just watch the movies 'Wall Street' and 'American Psycho' then automatically decide to go into i-banking because I get off on contrast collars and obnoxious cuff links. I am legitimately interested in the market and how these BB/boutique investment banks run and where I could fall into that system.
