Man (or woman), there should be plenty of threads on this. Story should be framed the same way the poli sci or arts major would if they were gunning for IB.

"I enjoy my major (definitely dont come off like you hate it. even if you actually do) but realized that I'm better fit for a fast paced, dynamic environment. Working in a lab (or manufacturing floor) everyday isn't appealing to me after interning in that type of environment. After talking with alumni or people in industry, I know that IB is the best possible place for me to learn the business and ramp up in terms of my skills and industry knowledge"

Listing this out,

  1. be sure to articulate why IB is the better path for you
  2. be able to demonstrate interest. Do you know what deals are going on? Why the do or don't make sense? What about the markets?
  3. if you know your basic technicals that is a check in the box. be ready for them and know it cold. Shits easy compared to the course work we do.
Go all the way

HAHAHA. Enjoy my maj, didn't like lab after an internship, enjoy more dynamic env, enjoy the intellectual stimulation of fin markets. This is LITERALLY what I said my goodness accurate af
