Choosing between two internships.

Hi all,

I am a rising Junior considering two summer internship offers in Korea (I go to school in the US + I am a US Citizen). I hope to use this internship experience to get an internship in the US for next year. I was wondering if you guys could comment on which internship may be more helpful for me in terms of getting an internship at an reputable IB next year. One internship offer is from the fixed income division of the biggest securities firm in Korea. The other is from the IBD division from a Big4 in Korea(EY/Deloitte/PwC/KPMG). I think the fixed income internship may be more interesting, but I am worried about the name value of the firm. Although it's a reputable firm in Korea, hiring managers in the US may have never heard of it. I am also excited about the M&A division at a Big 4, but I have heard that Big 4 IBD doesn't provide the steep learning curve that many other firms do. Any advise for choosing between these two internships will be greatly appreciated!

For me personally - I would take the transaction services internship at Big 4. I know of a lot of people who have done this and lateraled into IBD afterwards. I assume this would hold the same in Korea. All the best!
