Chrome redesign. WTf?

Who the hell decided to scrap a classic, functional five-year old design for some childish, elementary school play-day type design? WTF? The new Chrome update looks like a toy. Rounded corners, all-white, laughable fonts - is this actually a utilitarian web browser or simply a failed attempt at modern art for hipsters to jerk off to?

Firefox is a CPU/RAM-hungry monster for Mac and safari is a joke for anyone who's actually trying to get some stuff done.

WTF google? How did this even get through user testing?

To anyone who hasn't updated to Chrome 69: DO NOT RESTART YOUR BROWSER

don't understand the downvotes. I don't know if you guys are capable of working with some hipster/millenial-oriented joke of a web browser - yes, they do harvest your data, and i cut them some slack, but now they except customers to continue to use their product AFTER redesigning it into a 6th grader joke? It looks great and has a design novelty that lasts for a couple hours, I'll give them that. The terrible and unpractical design may not bother any of you, but it sure does bother me.

I saw the redesign and while I think it could be better, I seriously cannot grasp what this has to do with millenials or hipsters or why you bring your clear hatred of them into a post about a web browser.

It takes a really "special" kind of person to bitch about a redesigned browser on a finance website that has nothing to do with the design of said browser

It's not even that bad. All they did was round out the edges and turns grey colors white. Guy is fucked in the head.

waste of time and tons already exist - Brave, Waterfox, Chromium, maxthon, etc.

I would just use firefox and customize the userChrome.css to my own liking. unfortunately, I've grown out of those high school days of customizing, FOSS, and arch linux; it's time to stop messing around like a child and get down to real work.

already tried this method, you cannot truly revert back the material design UI, only the top chrome. Also, upon opening incognito windows (which I use very frequently), the dark borders have white lines and completely detracts from the design. A very crude solution, if anything, and there's no knowing whether that flag will be permanent or removed in a few weeks.

Gee... one would think most people would be fans of 69.
