CIA following Twitter, Facebook

I have nothing to hide from the government, so I don't care if some twerp down in Langley looks through my email. While the article I'm linking to spotlights the Asia/MENA group, there's little doubt that they have a domestic group [or a 'foreign' group in Australia that monitors us, whatever]. The reason this article is interesting is because access to this information would present a AWESOME marketing resource. While I don't think they're going to release real time, granular info, even quarterly or annual summaries would be incredibly useful. I'm looking for an 'in' on this now, but does anyone here have any idea how one would contract a data feed of their results?

Excerpt:

"The CIA looks at 5 million tweets a day in an attempt to get a feeling for public sentiment in Pakistan, China, and elsewhere."

Omg, this is SO AWESOME! I wonder how they quantify the "moods" of the people. Id love to see their data - reminds me of google trends. Coincidentally, this same tool is available to the public, though prob in a less badass form, by google. You can search by country, time frame etc.

If this fund existed, I would kill to work there.
