CIB In Italy (Mediobanca, Unicredit, Intesa Sanpaolo...)

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if any of you have some information regarding some banks that operate in Italy that own a CIB Division. I am a Management Engineering student with spec. in Finance (high GPA) but I have the feeling that top tier IB will still prefer someone from Bocconi rather than someone from Politecnico Di Milano. If not, please enlight me.

My best bet would be developing some thick skin with an intership before trying to get a job in the top tier IB firms.

For now, the "most promising ones"  I found are:

  • Mediobanca
  • Intesa Sanpaolo
  • Illimity
  • Intermonte
  • Unicredit

Do you have any other valid companies operating in Italy? Which one would you define the "best"?

Thank you in advance.

I think you should be open to look at more firms, some of them include:

  • La Compagnia Holding
  • Seta Capital
  • Cassiopea Partners
  • Ethica Group
  • EQUITA (not really a boutique, one of the main IBs in Italy but mostly ECM and I've seen BSc people intern there)
  • Fineurop Soditic
  • Clarence Bridge Capital (Very small PE, seen some BSc interns)
  • Vitale & Co (not really a very small boutique but I think applicable)
  • Mandarin Capital Partners
  • Illimity (very nice NPL focused institution created by Corrado Passera, quite an expert in my opinion, nice growth and culture I've heard)
  • Banca Profilo
  • Lincoln International (Not really a small boutique but I think not that competitive for Milan office)
  • Klecha&Co (possibly, even if I only ever saw job postings for FT positions)

anyway I would recommend checking out this: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/internship-recruiting-in-italy

I think that you should worry about ranking firms once you have multiple offers, they are all competitive to get in

If I may ask, do you have a friend that could help you prepare with mocks and stuff?
