Citi GTS to S&T

Can anyone give me any advice on my current situation. I just graduated from USF tampa and I got a job at Citigroup in the GTS department this past January. What would be the best path for me to get into S&T dept. and possibly move to NYC or London?

Thanks in advance

Unless you have a contact on a desk and there's a need basis, C has a internal transfer program ("S&T Associate Class") into S&T. HR will only manage the process through that program. It's a fairly long process with a lot of interviews, including your current manager in GTS. There are also few spots in the program for internal xfers since most analysts stay on and graduate to the Associate program. Keep in mind you are also competing against other front office positions i.e. kids in IBD and Cap Mkts that want to move over to S&T. Not to sound negative but I know a few folks who went through the process (one person in Eq Cap Mkts and another from IBD industrials grp) and did not have too many good things to say i.e. one interviewer mention to him that people were already spoken for. My advice would be to start looking externally as HR is really unwilling to have people xfer in and out of divisions for obvious reasons.
