Citi Quantitative Analysis & Trading
I have a superday coming up for Citi Quantitative Analysis & Trading. The 2 yr program allows me to do 1 yr in research, 1 yr in trading, and then choose which one to stay with by the end of the 2 yrs. Does anybody have experience interviewing for this FT position? The first-round was all fit (although there were two interviewers and I heard the other interviewer was a bit technical). What degree of technical questions do you think I should anticipate?
All I know is that I have to be there by 8 am and they're providing me with a hotel for the full day...
Thanks
You may be asked to pitch a stock
are you columbia or pton?
double
If you follow the markets constantly (read a financial newspaper) and know why Citigroup differs from other firms you will be fine (assuming you are likable and have a personality). This advice is really true of any superday.
Don't be awkward, don't be nervous. Have fun, they're flying you to NY and you get a hotel. That's a pretty sweet deal in itself.
This makes sense for the first round, but how can they possibly do this for the final round? Usually they weed out the weirdos in the first round, so it makes sense that they want to push you and see how much horsepower is under the hood in the final round before making a hiring decision. Right?
yeah that position isn't for idiots like banking or something. i can't imagine they won't ask you tons of technical questions
I'm almost positive that you take a math exam as part of the superday, was interviewing in another group with a guy who was getting pitched for my group that was also interviewing for QA&T and he had to take one.
If you're so worried, review some statistics chapters from your intro stat class.
An interviewer once told me (wont say the firm but it was a top 10 BB) that (paraphrased) "You're at the superday so we figure you're capable of working here. We just want to see if we like you."

Anyone going to10/6/11 Citi quantitative Trading & Analysis Superday? What kind of questions should I expect to have.

.
you'll meet with like 5 diff people.
one will ask you math puzzles (literally off a list)
another guy will ask you to do some coding, so know your data structures and algorithms
you'll also have a resume-based one and where you talk bout current events
another one will give you proof-based math problems
i think the distribution of interviews you get is based on your background.
Thanks a lot applelover. I heard from someone its gonna be around 8 to 10 people.
Good Luck! They're not hiring FT for any S&T this year.
also a 30 min math test
Bernanky, that is not true. I know someone who was offered after the 9/29 superday. Just because you got rejected, don't make excuses.
Nah brosef. Recruitment is way behind me. If you searched the Citi FT topic in the trading forum, you would've seen that they aren't recruiting. I personally couldn't care less about Citi.
What questions did they ask you?

Did anybody have their CITI Sales and Trading - Quant Track Superday yet? If yes, what kind of questions should I expect? Is there anything I should focus on?
Thanks.

Sorry I cannot be of any help to you, but what were the questions like in your first round phone interview with Citi Quant Track? (I assume it is Quantitative Trading & Strategy division) Also, what kind of skills do they expect candidates to have?
It's quantitative trading & analysis. Went through superday and it seems like a very interesting program and where you could really learn a lot.
hellogoodbye...what was superday like? what kind of questions did they ask? (I PMed you...)
paperlec, i had an on-campus interview, and it was mostly behavioral with 3 technical questions...the tech questions were easy (geometry)...i think hellogoodbye has in another forum has posted the questions.
Does anyone know what kind of questions are generally asked at superday for this quant position?
let's just say the super day is significantly harder.. I mean really significantly harder than the first round
did they ask you any computer science questions?
no they didn't.
Could anyone post here if they have heard back from Citi? Thanks.
can anyone be more specific as to what first round and superday questions were asked? thanks!
how did the MDs know you were hellogoodbye?
i figure they probably only asked me those 2 questions...
no, those questions were universal. i got asked the exact same questions.
did either of you guys hear back yet?
I was at the superday on Friday, and I got an offer!
