class of 08' analyst

Just wondering if anyone has any idea on how to break into corp dev after MM banking experience west coast. Currently working as a 1st year, and I dont think there will be many 3rd year offers considering all the layoffs i have seen. Also do not want to do investment banking anymore.

Second advice question is if anyone knows what the transition is like from a 2 year stint to a grad school abroad? Not sure if scholarships are attainable or not obviously i wont be rich after all this is said and done. Some quick background, went to a target school, have over 3.5+ GPA, mm banking intern, mm bank stint now (assuming i survive the 2 years).

Thanks a bunch to anyone who takes the time to respond, and if anyone has questions about banking feel free to message.

Specifically I mean working in an M&A group within a F500 as you stated above. I guess to be more broad too anything on the M&A advisory side. Currently work in the tech group for my mm bank. We do everything from M&A to Cap raising... obviously not much of the latter going on anymore. I figure it will be next to impossible to land PE jobs out of a market with next to no deal flow and definitely 0 LBO's going through although i certainly have built some LBO models.

Thanks for the quick response much appreciated.
