Clearing firm or Fund Accounting/Reporting with AM as a long term career goal

Coming out of undergrad with the longer term goal of breaking into an Investment Management role as an Equity Analyst. Main two entry level roles I’m considering are either fund accounting on mutual funds, trusts, and HFs in a large fund services department, or a post grad program with a BB banks clearing sub business. Appeal here seems that I will get more exposure to exotic derivative products, and the program offers the chance to travel internationally within the first year.

Anyone a few years into an analyst gig/who hires analysts, would you perceive some international travel and clearing experience or fund accounting experience as more attractive in a potential candidate for an analyst role?

Also worth noting is the fund services company does have an asset management arm, unclear of how likely it is to transition laterally into an analyst role within - but may help to have an AM brand name on a resume.

Thanks for any and all input!
