Have you had any experience of reaching directly out to PE firms? I have had some initial interviews through headhunters and networking but wanted to know an approach for cold recruiting. I have a list of firms that I want to target but I am having difficulty deciding the best way to attack it.
Should I reach out to associates through their 'team' page or linked in?
Is it best to reach out through their contact us page on the website?
What if they do not have any of these options? Have you guys found techniques that work?

Not to be a debbie downer, but not going to work. You're better off transferring to a different firm / role that will position you better for PE recruiting.
Just like you, those PE associates just want to go home at the end of the day. They don't want to be bombarded with emails from kids desperate to get into PE.
Yea so I've sent about 100+ cold emails and made =10 connections of people saying we'll make sure you get an interview when we next do on cycle recruiting OR next time we need someone we'll reach out to you to offer an interview
One of these came into fruition for an interview but by that time I no longer wanted to work there so I can't comment on how it panned out beyond that
I've had greater success targeting higher ups than associates. I try to email them directly and if that doesn't work then a month later I hit them up on LinkedIn.
I try to keep it concise and use something relevant in the email to show that I really know about their investments and am not going to waste their time.
Bravo then. I never heard of this strategy working, but apparently I / friends just weren't hustling hard enough
Yea dude I really have found it is a numbers game and a game of how organized your spreadsheet can be of names to hit up and how frequently to hit them up. If you do something simple like make a deal with yourself you have to send one cold email before going to bed everyday, then it gets easier. FWIW if this is helpful to anyone reading, not commenting on your outreach skills.
