cole haan vs AE?

Rising junior that just wants a nice pair of shoes for interviews. Should I just get a pair of cole haans, or would it be better to get the AEs. I feel like most ppl won't notice the difference or care enough, and I will be saving a lot of money.

Don't worry about the brand, just go for something that looks nice and doesn't break your wallet. I've personally always found Calvin Klein to have pretty nice shoes that don't splash logo/are on the cheaper side.

OP asked Cole Haan vs. AE, which are both lower-tier quality shoes..

My post was that he shouldn't buy a pair of Ferragamos at this stage unless he wants to be laughed at.

I own pairs of both. Quality of Cole Haan vs. AE isn't comparable. If you properly clean and polish the AEs they will last a lifetime. Cole Haans are fine for daily wear; AEs are great for interviews, client meetings, and formal occasions.

This guy starting ten new Cole Haan vs. The World threads a day got me taking a look at some of their shoes online. The Washington Grand Wholecut Oxford is actually not terrible looking. I might have even picked up a pair if not for the crude looking, chunky, synthetic sole. Remind me of those special training shoes Kramer bought from the Jimmy.

Same positon as you and here is what I did. I own a two pairs of Cole Haans that have served me exceptionally well over the past year. The key is to buy them on sale, I bought both for around $100 and at that price point it can not be beat.
