Colgate vs Lehigh vs Villanova(Econ) vs Bucknell
All of these schools seem relatively similar in placement rates in IBD. I was wondering what your guys thoughts are as I was accepted to all of these schools and have to decide by next month.

All are non-targets at the top banks, but would say Colgate is the best choice. I think they have recruiting from Barclays, BAML, and maybe a few other banks. Lehigh is really only a core school for Citi because of one very senior person there. Villanova would probably be tough especially if you're not even in their business program. Bucknell has sent some kids to BB's, but not sure if that's through actual OCR/Alumni Network. At all of these schools the average student is very well off, which is something to keep in mind in terms of placement. Nothing wrong with using your family's connections etc. (you have to use any advantage you may have) but would be more skeptical about the actual OCR/Alumni Network. Colgate, I think is probably the best choice both academically and recruitment wise.
Awesome yeah Colgate is at the top of my list right now. I do like Villanova for the location but I really regret not applying into VSB. Colgate seems to place very well given how small the school is. I hear from ND today, that’s a long shot but we will see. Thanks for the input.
Yeah I agree with the other poster. If you were in Villanova's b-school it would be an easy choice, but nova econ is less attractive to recruiters. I would go Colgate since the other poster is right about them having a little action at Barclays and BAML. I have friends at all the schools you listed and I think Villanova and Colgate are the best experiences as well. You should look into internal transferring at Villanova before you make any decisions tho
Thanks yeah I’m researching the transfer process right now.

I’ve only met women from these schools at banks. Not all of them were in front office IB jobs so that’s something to watch out for
All of those schools are great but I went to Lehigh so will always rep it. I’m not sure what kind of recruiting is there these days (apparently Bear/Lehman were the two that always came to campus pre ‘08, RIP kings) but there is a strong alumni presence in banking and PE. It’s a very work hard / play hard environment with awesome Greek life scene. Apparently the administration has gotten softer and I get weird “sjw”-esque emails but think all schools are headed in that direction. You can get to where you want from any of them so go where you feel fits you best.
Current student, Citi recruits but that's pretty much it and ur right about the admin they've also been really cracking down on greek life
I went to Bucknell, and like Asso 3 PE I will always rep the school. I also graduated within the past 3 years.
Congrats on the acceptances first of all. They are all great schools and I'm sure you'd have fun at all of them. Depending on the major for Colgate, Lehigh, and Bucknell that might have a bit of impact on recruiting, however I was STEM and my fellow STEM and non STEM classmates did not have issues getting OCR if they were adamant on IBD.
Regarding OCR, for Bucknell we are basically a pipeline to Stifel/KBW IBD. We have a very active alum that recruits from there. Also HSBC, Barclays (we have old Lehman alum there), but not too many other large bank OCR. However, we are sprinkled across the street (a lot of alum in IBD at MS, BAML, UBS, JPM) and you'd be surprised at our presence. Just do a quick LinkedIn search by school in IBD. I recently started at a boutique bank where I'm the only alum and would be more than happy to help fellow Bucknellians. Our network is our strongest asset, and we pull more for our own that other schools do imo since everyone looks foundly at their time in Lewisburg.
Here are some rates for Bucknell vs other schools, 18 (highest out of the Hamilton, Colgate, Wake forest, Villanova) for class of 2019, which I can attest is accurate. We have a notorious professor that was partner at GS that's been teaching at the management school

I came out of Bucknell with several life long ride or die friends, hopefully you will too!
Thx for the info, I’m headed to Lewisburg next week. Excited to check it out.
