College Hunt

So I’ve done my du diligence on this sight and produced a pretty solid college list for investment banking. If you guys had any other college suggestions to add or remove within Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, or NY it would be greatly appreciated. My current list right now is Babson, Fordham, Penn State, UPenn, NYU, SUNY Bing, Baruch, and Villanova. Any comment helps

It is way more helpful if you post ur stats so we can recommend schools. I see that you listed UPENN, if you have those stats apply to umich, gtown, UVA, uchicago, notre dame.

I am applying test optional for covid really hindered my scores, but I am a 97 average student with max clubs and honors filled out. I was also the #1 student within my business department and had a few internships as well as club-based awards. Hope this helps

97 average, not to diminish your achievements, doesn’t say too much because of recent grade inflation. What’s your class rank? Clubs are good so long as you had leadership positions and impact stats in them. Internships do nothing for UG admissions and club based awards could be good depending on what they are.

Keeping your privacy in mind, try to be a little bit more specific.

Lehigh alumni. We definitely send a few kids a year to IB (mainly BOFA and Citi) but there is not a proper pipeline directly out of college unless you network like crazy or join the Dreyfus investing club. However, the name still is fantastic in the industry and myself and many others were able to get a banking job as our second gig and work from there.

Hard to really assess your odds but other schools in PA/MA/NY to consider are Bucknell, Bentley, Northeastern, BC, Colgate, Hamilton, etc. If you're applying to Penn and NYU (presumably Wharton and Stern), then why not Cornell, Columbia, etc.? Carnegie Mellon is a very good school but guessing it will likely be a reach along with the latter names referenced.

Broadening your geography will greatly increase your options. Trust me, unless you have some serious familial issue that requires you to be close to home, you won't give a damn being far away. Apply everywhere and go to the best possible school you get into depending on your financial need. Test optional is no bueno tho... admissions is a crapshoot. take the ACT dude. get a 32+.... No class rank? doesnt make sense.

I did a bunch of research both on this platform and on the college’s websites and I am pretty satisfied with my current list. However, if you have any other colleges to recommend I’d love the feedback

This list makes no sense. What caliber of student are you? Why would you be applying to schools like UPenn and NYU alongside Baruch, Fordham, and Penn State? Either you won't get into the former or you don't need to apply to the latter.
