Columbia, CMU or NYU for Asia BB trading
Hi all,
I am currently working at a NY BB as a first yr trading analyst. I m going to take a PT master, finish ASAP (within 1.5 yrs) and go back to Asia (at the time I finish my analyst program. I have 2 questions.
-
Of these 3 schools' FE or master programs, how would Asian BB trading desks rank them?
-
For someone who has been in the industry but doesn't have a good undergrad school name or advanced degree (master, MBA, phd), which program would be the best fit for me? (minimum time, not many work but still good reputation at Asia)
Many Thanks!
i think CMU Columbia NYU from the last quantnet rankings but not sure?
Have you looked at Oxford/Cambridge/LSE? Those schools have very strong international reputations- perhaps stronger than CMU/NYU/Columbia. IIM should also be on the list if you are pursuing an MFE.
In terms of the US schools, I think you would want to aim for MIT and Princeton. Chicago has an excellent international rep for mathematics and finance/econ, but they are refactoring their financial mathematics program at the moment.
columbia doesnt offer part time. its only full time. aside from their emba program, which is "part time" in that you go to class on weekends + every other friday or something like that. and i think you need a couple of years of experience for mba's as well...
