Combatant Gentlemen
Anyone in the working world have experience with these $160 suits? They're getting a lot of press but wondering if they are actually worth giving a shot, or would I be better of blowing that money elsewhere?

No idea about them, but they don't look so great to me on their website. I would play it safe and put that money towards buying something from a more established maker. Also this:

If you are going to go that cheap on a suit, you might be better off going to Jos. A. Bank and getting their BOGO style sales where you get 3 or four suits for the price of one suit at retail. They are bound to be better than Combatant, especially after reading that review.
Anyone try Combatant Gentlemen? (Originally Posted: 01/05/2015)
Here is their website.

Apparently they own the sheep that they make the wool out of, so that's why the prices are so cheap. Anyone ever try one of their suits? What do you guys think?
Haven't tried them personally, but I did read a few reviews of them. Overall, they were less than stellar as far as I remember. If you can afford spending a bit more, you will probably be better served.
I don't know a whole lot about the supply chain economics of suit manufacturing, but I find it hard to believe that the cost of the raw wool is what drives prices up for brands like this...
Hey guys, Fez from Combatant Gentlemen here, happy to answer any questions you may have.
@copecre -- high-quality wool is actually quite expensive, which is why the majority of brands at our near our price point opt for polyester/wool blends instead of offering 100% wool suiting. Also, the whole "sheep-to-closet" concept goes beyond sourcing our own raw materials; it also includes owning our own factories and doing fulfillment in-house instead of outsourcing it like most other clothing brands do.
