Commuting + Heels for Work

Girls -

I'm planning on wearing my (well used) white sneakers on the commute to work and bringing my black pumps with me. The sneakers aren't athletic ones but they're pretty worn down, is it okay to change in the lobby of my building or should I do it earlier? There's a decent walk from the nearest subway station to the building.

Go ahead. Nobody gives a shit and frankly (if you know men), probability that someone would notice is very low.

PS. I am not a girl, but my junior trader at a bank (a young lady) did exactly this but she'd change the shoes at the desk

I have a friend who lives in the country, and it's supposed to be an hour from 42nd Street. A lie! The only thing that's an hour from 42nd Street is 43rd Street!
