Comp in REIB groups at brokerages
Hey monkeys,
Can anyone provide comp details for a 1st year analyst in a REIB group at a big 3 brokerage (JLL, CBRE, CW) in NYC? Yes, I know that their function is fundamentally different than that at a traditional bank. Any insight is appreciated.

It depends on the brokerage and it depends on the model. Certain firms, the pay for analysts come right out of the pockets of the senior brokers whose team they are joining, some analyst are paid by the firm. General range will be $50,000 - $65,000. Cannot comment on bonus potential (if it exists at all).
I can say the above is true. Some teams may give a year end bonus based on what the senior broker believes is fair, or some brokers give a piece of each deal they work on. I only personally know of the latter, and it was mentioned it can range from 20 bps of the total to 10%. It all varies based on contribution.
You can expect roughly a base salary of $65k - $70k with a 10% - 20% bonus. I speak from personal experience.
Thanks Greenwich7690 . That definitely seems lower than expected considering the workload i've been clued in on. Thanks for your insight.
Edit: I should also mention that a lot of people in the group are previously of a traditional IB background. That is partially why i'm surprised the comp is so drastically below that found on the street.
