Companies that would sponsor for grad school?
Hi guys:
do you guys know which consulting firms will sponsor for graduate school? I'm thinking about Econ PhD--I'm interested in international trade/international finance, and I think that having very high academic/research level knowledge of these things will definitely be beneficial to me and to the company.
how does this work? do they usually sponsor graduate programs or just MBA? do they usually sponsor fulltime or parttime?
Thanks so much!
I have never heard of a consulting firm sponsoring a Phd, only MBA's.
I think you are confusing benefit to you and company with just benefit to you.
really? I've met people working on environmental science PhD at my school who were sponsored by their firm.
Also, how is knowing international trade/finance NOT a benefit to the firm? Globalization is happening and every firm needs someone who can work on the forefront of these issues, right?
I would expect that you should be able to get a fellowship with tuition remission and a stipend if you go to a good program and have high GPA, Math/stats GPA, and quant GRE.
Take this with a grain of salt because I don't know, but I would also assume that economic consulting firms (ie NERA, Analysis Group, FTI) would be more likely to sponsor your PhD because they need PhDs, whereas MBB doesn't need PhDs.
