Compensation + Promotion (London)

Hi guys, I am rejoining a BB in LDN after completing my internship there last summer..

Was wondering how bonuses work (+ fast tracking promotions). My team has comparatively "easy" hours (60-70 per week).

If I go out of my way to get staffed on more deals (and overperforming) is there any likelihood of securing a better bonus + fast tracking to associate (third year / 2.5 years as analyst)?

Thanks!

Very few firms have fast track and these are the ones that typically have not yet moved to the 2 year analyst structure. I think JP and Jefferies are very much the only two that I can think of that have such a structure.

Your bonus is not just about how much work you do / deals you close / hours you work. It really depends on the bank but if you are the unsociable nerd that just works and no one likes in your team you are in for some disapointment.
