ConocoPhillips Commercial/Trading Internship Interview
I am going to have a phone interview. How is the interview like? Is it basically all fit/behavioral coz it sounds like I am going to be interviewing with the recruiter herself?

All fit and behavioral. Know why energy, Houston, and trading. Show that you have an appetite for risk. Otherwise, be prepared for the million different tell me of a time when questions. Best of luck.
jotah, sent you a pm :)
Best of luck to you bearcats! You'll do well :)
Thanks m8875
interview went really well...
At the end of the interview, the interviewer said, "It's nice talking with you and hopefully you are not too sold on returning to _____ (BB I worked at last summer) and would consider ConocoPhillips"
Does that last line have any implications or is it just standard?

Hey Bearcats,
I think you got the offer! There's no second round for internship for conoco as I've heard.
It's a really good sign. Don't get discouraged if you don't hear back for awhile, though. They're turnaround can take up to a month.
^Hey jotah, i'm about to go for second round this week for full time...i told them i have an offer with BB that i must sign like next week...you think they'll speed up the process?
as long as you are not trying to pull a jeffrey chiang lol
the interviewer is really nice too.. I sent a thank you letter and she actually replied.... that's like the first time I ever got a reply for a thank you letter lol :)
They should be able to speed up the process. People at my school aren't going to hear back until the beginning of November I believe.
Jotah, you mean specifically for Conoco, your friends will not hear back for final decision until early November? (Which is actually next week :p)
I can confirm the first week in November for COP. That is what HR told me as well.
just got a second round onsite so apparently it's not a one round process this year....
Yeah they switched it up. Friend at my school got the same call. Best of luck.
for those who went through the full time onsite interviews, did you guys get offered and do you guys know the proportion they actually offered?
I have talked to people and the onsite are not as formal
what does that mean exactly? Can you elaborate pls? thanks
It's going to be some interviews mixed with a tour + sell day. Maybe only one interview to be honest.
what he said
Does it basically mean they intend to offer a large proportion of the onsite interviewers and basically just trying to make sure that the people aren't dbags?
Or is it just the same as normal onsite interview but with less context (fewer interviews) to judge their interviewers making it more of a crapshot?
lets hope not. you may be in trouble..
jk
Take a deep breath amigo. I'm not in HR there so I can't give you answers to questions like that. I've heard of people going there and not getting offers who weren't dbags. Who they select and why will be up to them ultimately
Just relax and keep knocking it out of the park and you should be in a good spot.
jotah,
would that mean you know people who were dbags and did get offers?
so your telling me I have a chance?
just got back from ft final rounds. everything went fine and everyone was so nice!
and weather was nice
Weather's not nice in Houston until you hit mid-August
